I'm working on a cell shading technique based on the cutscenes from the Final fantasy game; War of the lions. I love the art style. it has this crosshatched, pencil shaded effect that lends to the idea of the game being a recounted story that may be in an old book. The art style does a good job of mirroring some of the earlier concept art that has a basic anime while creating a feeling of both story and time using crosshatching and desaturated colors. I am working on the content for projection mapping on one of the stages at Boomtown festival this year. so I spent a couple days re-topologising a model of a robot dancer made by a friend. The model was taking too long to bind to its skeleton due to it having a very high poly count. it took me much less then i thought it would using a combination of Maya's Live Surface and draw on poly tools. I was told today that its bind time is down to 15 seconds not ideal as most my binds
Did a quick project this week based around the character of Crow from Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta's graphic novels East of West. My housemate has the costume so we did a quick shoot in the rain. VFX was probably more complicated then it needed to be with the birds being modeled, rigged and rendered and then animated in After Effects. probably should have used a particle system... #Crow #Eastofwest
I'v finished off the wipe out racer. for now its mostly going to sit in my showreel. But it will be part of a project I have planned well in the future. I did a little bit of VFX on its afterburner but nothing too fancy. I will have to think about a pilot also but that's a problem for another time.
First proper Post! I'm building a CGI sci-fi racer for a future project. Its styled on the cars from the game Wipout. I was never a big player but loved the car designs. Here it is as it stands: I'm sure it will pop up in my showreel when its finished.
